What Are Listserv Discussions?

These listservs, or email discussion groups, offer a way for writers to engage fellow authors in discussions about playwrighting, poetry, fiction, creative nonfiction, and children's literature. Discussions take the form of email conversations; individual members communicate through email messages sent to the group.

Here, people can communicate about current projects and interests, and discuss new approaches and techniques in creative writing.
At certain times, to be announced, these discussions will lead by guest-authors from the state.

Michigan Writers Network Listserv Discussions:

• Playwriting for stage and screen:
  MW-playwright
• Poetry: MW-poetry
• Fiction: MW-fiction
• Creative Nonfiction: MW-nonfiction
• Children's Literature: MW-childrenslit
• Journalism: MW-journalism

Each network will likely have its own "personality," and in the initial stages, will be edited by a member of the MWN coordinating team. These editors control the flow of messages, and reject flames and messages unsuitable for a community discussion group.
